Hari belongs to a wealthy family while Shiv is from a poor family. The difference in their social status, however, does not hamper their love for each other as they fight throughout life to protect each other's honor. Shiv, in this quest of finding his love, gets into a huge fight to save his friend's honor at the local wrestling tournament. This fight induces Hari's parents to get him married to a girl named Radha (Kriti Sanon), who is nicknamed "Romeo" by the villagers because she has fallen in love with almost every boy in the village. Hari and Shiv are forced to take her along since they need her dad's help to make some important changes in the village's electric plant which will be of great importance one day. As soon as Radha comes into their lives, she starts to clash with Shiv about everything. Hari and Radha get married, but when Hari's mother comes to know that Radha has been the daughter of a "jawaani" (a really powerful person) who is a gangster, she hides all her gold in a safe. Meanwhile, because of the generous nature of the gangster, Shiv falls in love with her. Hari and his family make a plan to make Shiv lose his love for his friend without telling him about the gold. In the meanwhile, she gets to know about their plan and lives through many ups and downs trying to keep her love from Hari. She finds out that Hari has been hiding the gold from her, and she starts to live a miserable life with her dad. When all their plans fail, Hari's father comes up with a new one to make Shiv fall in love with someone else. Hari and Radha bring Shiv to Bombay for his college education, where he falls in love with the daughter of his classmate named Chutki (Tisca Chopra).
